Risposta Bistro: Cooking Class Review

Chef Eranga of Risposta Bistro teaching a cooking class

Ever since moving to Milton, I have heard amazing things about the food, drink and service at Risposta Bistro! Located in the beautiful neighbourhood of Campbellville, Risposta Bistro is known for their authentic Italian cuisine with a Mediterranean flavour prepared in the old fashioned way! The food is so food, even Deadmau5 ate there!!

I have been seeing lots of posts about their new chef, Eranga Nanayakkara. Chef Eranga have worked at the best restaurants around the world including working the amazing Gordon Ramsay. He also opened one of the most popular restaurant in Fort McMurray and to top it all off, Chef Eranga was crowned the top chef in the Middle East in 2010! What a resume he’s got!

I was very excited to see that Risposta Bistro was offering cooking classes. Obviously I love to cook and try different recipes, but when you have the opportunity to learn from a top chef and someone who is an expert in this industry, you don’t pass up that opportunity.

The cooking class was $125 and it includes a wine pairing! It was scheduled to run from 6pm – 9pm and took place at the restaurant’s beautiful private party area. On the menu was a mozzarella and prosciutto ravioli made with a saffron pasta dough and served with a spinach, white wine truffle cream. I am drooling just thinking about this dish again!

So couple of things to keep in mind during this cooking class, they are very in depth in terms of teaching every single component of creating this dish (the class actually ran a little longer than the 3 hours time slot). Don’t expect to be eating throughout the cooking class. So since it is at least 3 hours, have a light meal before attending. Or order a meal downstairs at the restaurant to munch on.

I really enjoyed the team at Risposta going through step by step how to create the ravioli, and also answering the students’ questions throughout the whole experience. The class was very intimate and interactive and it was fun to meet other foodies in the area. There were parts of the class where the chef and sous chef got the students involved, like chopping vegetables for stock and rolling out pasta dough.

If you are a beginner cook and looking for a very thorough Italian cooking class, check out Risposta Bistro’s classes! They have a bunch of upcoming classes on September 25th, October 30th, and November 27th. Each class is $125 or you can do all three for $300. You can get all the details here on their website.

They also have an amazing 3 course dinner with wine pairings on Monday and Tuesdays for only $65!  And the menu looks AMAZING!! I will definitely have to go back and check these out! You can check out their menu and book here.

Risposta Bistro serves up delicious food that is made from scratch, local when possible (they have chickens and a garden on the property!) and of course, super tasty! If you are looking for a restaurant for a special occasion, look no further and book your table at Risposta Bistro today!
