The Arkells’ Very Own Restaurant & Bar
If you are an Arkells fan, you probably know that Max and Nick are part owners of Odds Bar in Downtown Hamilton. While their bar is not the closest to Tim Hortons Field, it is still a delicious place to grab some good eats and drinks before the concert or game. Currently they partnered up with Cozy Bird to bring their guests fried chicken sandwiches, fries, nachos, and other great eats. (Dine in, take out, patio)
Vegetarian & Vegan Restaurants Near Tim Hortons Field (The Hamilton Stadium)
Coven: One of the most popular vegan marketplace in Hamilton! You can grab grocery items but also baked goods, coffee, and even breakfast items here. There are no seats but Gage Park is steps away so this is a great place to grab something to go.
The Hearty Hooligan: Fun Simpsons-themed vegan restaurant with tons of options! Find everything from cakes, sandwiches, to burritos. Dine-in and take-out available!
Asian Restaurants Near Tim Hortons Field (The Hamilton Stadium)
Mimi’s Asian Gourmet: Featuring delicious made-to-order Thai, Malaysian, and other Asian dishes! Everything is super fresh and full of flavours! (Take out only)
East Place Chinese Restaurant: A little further East from The Hamilton Stadium but totally worth the journey. You will find your American Chinese food classics like Chicken balls and fried rice dishes. Portions are large, and price is still very fair. This family owned restaurant have been around since 1979. There is also a large dining room for you to sit and enjoy your meal. (Take out and dine in)
Mother’s Vietnamese kitchen: The BEST Vietnamese food in the city! Literally, every item on the menu is delicious! Trust me! (Take out and dine in)
Bars Near Tim Hortons Field (The Hamilton Stadium)
The Argyle: One of the most beautiful bars in the East end of Hamilton! There’s no food here but you can grab amazing cocktails! There is also a golf simulator at the back of the bar if you want to play a few rounds before heading out. They also have a fantastic patio!
The Capitol Bar: This quaint spot in the East end of Hamilton is steps away from the Tim Hortons Field. Delicious drinks and homemade food are served here! They are usually open late as well so might be a good spot to drop by after the game or show! (Dine-in and take out)
Nanny & Bull’s: Straight from their website, “A warm, nostalgic neighbourhood hangout in the east end of Hamilton, with a focus on cold drinks, good tunes, and friendly service.

Bernies’ Tavern: Open 7 days a week, this neighbourhood tavern gives you all the pub vibes you are looking for. Check out their pizzas, snacks, and sandwiches that everyone will love! (Dine-in, Take out, Patio)
Pizza Restaurants Near Tim Hortons Field (The Hamilton Stadium)
Mai Pai: If you haven’t tried Mai Pai, you are missing out! Hamilton’s famous Detroit-style pizza restaurant has people flocking from all over Ontario and beyond to come to check this place out. Walking into the restaurant, you are transformed into a fun tiki bar! Food, drinks, atmosphere, and service are all top-notch here. Their pizzas really remind me of the good ol’ days of Pizza hut! Check hours of service before going as currently they are only open for dinner. Dine-in and Takeout.
Power Pizza: The one and only Superhero themed pizza restaurant! Known for their delicious pizza and chicken wings! Take-out.
Shorty’s Pizza: New York Style Pizzas! Grab a slice, grab a drink! Great spot for dine-in and take-out! One of Hamilton’s most beloved pizza spots!
Ice Cream & Sweet Treats Near Tim Hortons Field (The Hamilton Stadium)
Willard‘s Ice Cream: Hand-crafted ice creams! They have both dairy and vegan flavours daily! They even make their cones in house! Grab a cone and take a lovely stroll to Gage Park. Limited seats are available.
Festival Cafe: Think of all the sweet treats you loved as a kid when you visited any theme parks, Festival Cafe has it all! Funnel cakes and Jumbo Ears. They are one of the very few places in Hamilton that serves the official Icee as well! There is a lot of heated debate on where you can get one of these Icee – so the secret is out! Get it at Festival Cafe. Sugar rush guaranteed!
Gluten-Free Restaurants Near Tim Hortons Field (The Hamilton Stadium)
Hammerhead’s : Another gem in Hamilton! This fully gluten-free restaurant serves the city’s BEST fish and chips! And many don’t know, they also make some mind-blowing curries! (Take-out only)
Pinch Bakery and Plant Shop: Find everything from a delicious cup of coffee, baked goods, and lunch options at Pinch Bakery. They have lots of tasty gluten free options as well. (Dine in, Take out and patio)
MacTini Bar: 100% gluten free restaurant specializing in gluten free mac n cheese. From their website “When the owner’s best friend was diagnosed with celiac disease, he set out on a mission: to create a mouthwatering, 100% gluten-free mac and cheese that tasted just as good as its traditional counterpart. Mike’s Subs: Probably one of the most popular sub restaurants in Hamilton! Hot subs,
Cold subs, Chicken subs, Torpedo subs, Wraps, Gyros, and more! Grab a sandwich and explore beautiful Ottawa Street!
Tall Tree Sandwich: Hand-crafted sandwich shop! Also serves delicious soups and salads. They are famous for their Cod Po’boy sandwich! You can pretty much see Tim Hortons Field from this restaurant, it’s super close!
Joshy’s Good Eats: Find the BEST in house smoked fish and bagel sandwiches in Hamilton here at Joshy’s Good Eats. Previously located at the Hamilton Farmer’s Market, Joshy’s now is home next to Bernie’s Tavern.
Coffee Shop Near Tim Hortons Field
The Cannon: Coffee, Tea, pastries, and waffles! Need I say more?
Ottawa Market: Instagram-worthy shop but also go there to people watch on their spectacular patio while you sip your coffee and eat your croissant.
Vintage Coffee: One of East end’s most beloved coffee shops. Dine-in and take-out available. But check their hours before heading over.
Rooney’s : The new guy in town! Opening mid-June just in time for you to be one of the first customers through their doors!
Crown & Press: One of my favourite coffee shops in the East end. Lots of seats and open the entire day. Browse beautiful art in their attached gallery as well. Dine in and take out!
Burger Restaurants Near Tim Hortons Field
Choobee’s Fries: A delicious food truck that serves smash burgers and homemade fries! The portion of the fries is HUGE! Service is fast!! Call ahead to place your order! There are some seatings available in front of their truck too.
Hambrgr: Get ready to wear your stretchy pants. Hambrgr is a staple in Hamilton! Their out-of-the-world burger creations will have you dreaming of burgers for days! They also serve milkshakes and booze!
HOTTIES SMASHBURGERS: Delicious smash burgers, all beef hot dogs, and sweet treats! Friendly staff and always delicious food. (Small Dine in, Take out)
Hidden Restaurant Gems Near Tim Hortons Field
Gage Park Diner: Tucked away in a cute little spot across from Gage Park, you can grab a coffee and some home-cooked breakfast (Vegan options too). They offer one of a kind items like sweet grass teas, strawberry juice and other Indigenous treats. It’s like we have been transported to Luke’s Diner on Gilmore Girls! There are limited seats, but another great spot to do take out and enjoy at Gage Park.
Dora’s Catering: Not your typical catering company. They have a storefront on Ottawa street with a huge grab-and-go selection. They are one of Hamilton’s top catering companies. Grab some food and head over to Gage Park for a picnic!
La Bodeguita: Last but certainly not least, this place is truly a hidden gem! When you walk in, it looks like a small grocery store, but snake around to the back, and there is a secret kitchen that makes THE BEST REAL Mexican food! Find authentic tacos, pupusas, burritos, and more here! (Take out only)

Great article! Wingporium is also mere steps away from the stadium at the corner of Barton & Barnesdale. Great Sports bar atmosphere and something like 80 different flavours of wings.
