Once upon a time I was on the hunt for some amazing desserts that went beyond the usual baked goods that I’d find at the local grocer. And I found some, right here in Halton! Enter: Bread ‘n Batter. Nestled in a very busy part of town (875 Main Street – right across the LCBO in the Superstore plaza), you’ll find some truly authentic Filipino baked goods along with some new innovative flavours at this small, but busy, Filipino bakery. Established in May 2015, Bread ‘n Batter have brought Milton and its surrounding locals some traditional Filipino sweet treats that are irresistible.
Their ultimate goal: to share their love of Filipino treats with Toronto. The family moved from the Philippines and really missed the sweet flavours and baked cakes from back home. So they then set upon a journey of not just bringing the memorable flavours of home to Milton, but also to share it with their newfound home and community, here. And thus, Bread ‘n Batter was born and the bakery have since been satisfying cravings from foodies around The 6ix.
So, let’s talk about the amazing food that comes out of their shop. Not only do they have traditional baked treats like pandesal and mamon, but they also have amazing fusion twist like the ube (sweet purple yams) cupcakes. This was my favourite menu item. I devoured it. No regrets. Then, soon came back looking for more.
But enough talking from me! Here are some of what you can expect from your visit to Bread ‘n Batter:
So, yeah. Make this place your next bakery obsession! I already know what birthday cake I am getting myself in December (Ube cake, here we go!). Now time to hit the gym so I can guiltlessly eat so much more. Make sure you drop by and say Hi and tell them that Joyce sent you!
