1
lb
large shrimp
(if you get shrimp with shell on, just remove the shells and the vein in the back)
3
tablespoons
butter
4
cloves
garlic
peeled and finely chopped
1
pinch
salt
1
pinch
ground black pepper
1/4
cup
Dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc works really well)
2
tablespoons
chopped fresh parsley
optional - you can use dried herbs like parsley, oregano as well
Instructions
In a large cast iron skillet, heat to medium heat
While the pan is heating up, peel and de-vein the shrimp
Once the pan is heated up, put butter into the pan with the garlic
Saute the garlic for about a minute and add shrimp (keep an eye on it, the shrimp cooks very fast)
Flip the shrimp after the first side turns pink (should only take about a minute)
Once all the shrimp are flipped, season with salt, pepper and add wine
Let the wine cook out and evaporate for about 2 minutes
Serve over pasta, rice, or eat on its own! Sprinkle parsley on top as a garnish if you wish!
